PFCC Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Do I still need to wash my car after applying paint protection film (PPF)?

Yes. While PPF offers excellent protection, the film surface can still be affected by external contaminants, especially under prolonged sun exposure. It's important to clean the vehicle in the following scenarios:

  • Long-term parking under trees may cause bird droppings or tree sap to damage the film.

  • Parking under air conditioner drainage or exhaust vents may expose the film to corrosive condensate.

  • Parking near kitchen exhausts may cause grease buildup, which is hard to remove.

  • Frequent exposure to acid rain can lead to surface erosion over time.

Additionally, if the vehicle is used as a wedding car, do not attach suction cups, ribbons, or fireworks residue directly onto the film. If this happens, wash the film within 12 hours to avoid staining or chemical penetration.

2. Will PFCC paint protection film turn yellow over time?

Our products are made with TPU material rated at Level 5 Anti-Yellowing, the highest industry standard. However, all outdoor-exposed film materials may exhibit slight yellowing over extended periods due to natural material aging—a global phenomenon that cannot be entirely avoided.

3. How long does the transparent coating on the film last?

When used and maintained properly, the transparent coating can remain in good condition for a very long time—potentially indefinitely. Regular cleaning and avoiding harsh physical impact will help maintain its clarity and gloss.

4. When does the PPF self-heal scratches?

PFCC PPF has a self-healing function. Minor surface scratches can gradually disappear at ambient temperatures above 25°C. Higher temperatures will accelerate the process. For deeper scratches, gentle heat (such as warm water or a heat gun) may be needed to activate the self-healing property.

5. Why does PFCC PPF offer scratch resistance?

Our PPF is made of high-quality TPU with a dense transparent polymer top coating. This layer features memory-based self-healing and effectively resists minor abrasions, stone chips, and daily wear. It also enhances paint gloss and gives the vehicle a more refined appearance.

6. What’s the difference between TPU and PVC materials?

TPU is currently the most advanced material for paint protection films. Compared to PVC, TPU is:

  • More environmentally friendly

  • Better at resisting aging, with stable performance between -40°C and 100°C

  • Stronger in anti-yellowing capabilities

  • More flexible and stretchable, allowing better fit and easier installation

  • Offers a superior overall appearance and long-term performance

7. What is paint protection film (PPF)?

Paint Protection Film—also known as clear bra—is a high-performance transparent film designed to protect vehicle paint from damage. Once applied, it forms a protective barrier that prevents scratches, corrosion, oxidation, and UV damage, while also enhancing gloss.

Key features include:

  • Outstanding stretch and tensile strength for various curved surfaces

  • Anti-yellowing performance up to 5 years, aging resistance over 8 years

  • Crystal-clear transparency, increasing paint gloss by 20%-50%

  • Resistance to oil, weak alkali, acid rain, and road debris

  • UV resistance to help prevent color fading

  • Excellent adhesive performance without cracking, lifting, or residue

  • Made from eco-friendly materials that meet safety standards

8. Is PPF really necessary?

Absolutely. Key reasons include:

  • Preserving resale value: Original paint in good condition improves second-hand vehicle valuation

  • Protection from environmental damage: Guards against acid rain, stones, scratches, and oxidation

  • Deterrence against vandalism: Helps minimize damage from malicious acts in unmonitored areas

  • Reduced insurance claims: Less risk from minor accidents can lower insurance premiums

  • Improved aesthetics: Boosts paint shine and gives the car a more premium appearance

9. Does PFCC PPF really work?

Yes, it’s highly effective. PFCC’s high-performance film covers the vehicle like a second skin, absorbing the damage from bird droppings, acid rain, minor scratches, and grease—protecting the original paint underneath. The film also delivers superior gloss and stain resistance, making your car easier to clean and keeping it looking like new. It’s a smart investment for any car owner who values vehicle protection and long-term appearance retention.

  • 长时间停车在树下,鸟粪、虫胶会腐蚀膜面;

  • 停车于空调滴水口或排风口下,冷凝水具腐蚀性;

  • 靠近油烟机或排油口,油渍积聚不易清除;
